I refer to the third paragraph of your letter (Ausd. 17269/22 dated 5 Feb, 1941). I have discussed with the Treasury (Treas. 42714-) the issue concerning the audit of the accounts from the China Postal Agencies.

  1. The Director of Colonial Audit has been consulted in the matter. He considers that the Treasury are not prepared to agree to the re-imbursement of the salary of one Auditors; the question may for the present be allowed to drop.
